HOMEMADE Apple and cinnamon crumpets

Sweet eating apple (peeled, cored and sliced) 1 1
Ground cinnamon 1 tsp 1 tsp
Dark brown sugar 1 tsp 1 tsp
Butter 10 g 0.35 oz



    • Peel and core the apple, and slice for cooking. This might be a good use for apples that are past their best, as we're aiming for a soft consistency for the crumpet mixture.
    • Melt the butter in a non-stick pan, then add the apple, cinnamon and sugar. Cook gently for about 10 minutes, until the apple has softened.
    • Remove the apple, and chop finely when cool.
    • Mix with the crumpet batter before cooking.
